China objection to Dalai`s Arunachal trip unjustified:Rinpoche
Shimla, Sept 12 (PTI) The Tibetan government-in-exile
on Saturday described as "unjustified" China's objection to
Dalai Lama's proposed visit to Arunachal Pradesh in November.
"Arunchal Pradesh and its Tawang region is an integral
part of India...if the Dalai Lama, who is staying in India for
the last 50 years, is visiting any part of the country why
does this bother China," Prime Minister of the government-in-
exile, Samdhong Rinpoche, told PTI over phone.
Taking strong note of Beijing's objection to the Nobel
Laureate's visit to the northeastern state, Rinpoche said "New
Delhi should see how Beijing dares to vent such objections.
"If Dalai Lama goes to Chinese territories it can
raise objection but in this case, Beijing has no business to
interfere," he said.
On India's stand that the Tibetan temporal head was
free to travel anywhere in the country, Rinpoche said "India
had always been generous towards us Tibetans.
"There is no place in India where the 73-year-old monk
has not been invited for religious discourse," he said, adding
he keeps going to different parts of India and Beijing should
not be bothered about it.
Rinpoche also appealed to the media not to give
weightage to Beijing's "ludicrous reaction". PTI
