NEARLY 5 THOUSAND AZERBAIJANI STUDENTS STUDYING ABROAD, EDUCATION MINISTER

Baku, September 10 (AzerTAc). About 5 thousand Azerbaijani students are studying abroad, said Education Minister Misir Mardanov. The Minister noted approximately 900 of them are pursuing their studies under various programs of the Azerbaijani government and agreements signed, while more than 400 under the “State Program on Education of the Azerbaijani Youth in Foreign Countries in 2007-2015” approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
The Minister also noted the number of foreigners studying in Azerbaijan is expected to exceed 8 thousand by the end of the academic year 2009-2010, adding the number of them is more than 7 thousand currently.
