Water consumption in Iran twice above int'l standards
Average water consumption in the world is 58 cubic meters for each person while the figure for Iran stands at 1,300 cubic meters, indicating that water consumption in Iran is two times above the international standards.
According to the Energy Ministry’s website, the rate of waste water in Iran stands at 28-30 percent while the figure in the world is 9-12 percent.
Given the consumption standards in Iran, any Iranian can use 150 liters of water during 24 hours; 50 liters for showering, 30 liters for lavatory, 20 liters for washing clothes, 15 liters for cooking, 15 liters for washing dishes, 10 liters for cleaning house and watering garden, five liters for coolers and five liters for drinking and so on.
