Iran-Kenya FMs discuss issues of mutual interest
Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki in a meeting with his Kenyan counterpart Moses Wetang'ula here on Tuesday discussed ways of strengthening bilateral ties.
According to the report of Foreign Minsitry Media Department, Mottaki told his Kenyan visitor, "We are satisfied with current good relations between the two countries and we hope with the upcoming visit of Kenyan Prime minister to Iran, these ties will be promoted, too."
Referring to Iran's foreign policy priorities, Mottaki said that mutual ties and plans for expansion of relations have been considered carefully and a road map on ties has been drawn.
Mottaki expressed Iran's serious intention for progress in joint projects in the field of transportation and added that with a visit by Iran's Road and Transportation Minister to Kenya, cooperation in this field can be strengthened.
Wetang'ula, by expressing pleasure over re-appointment of Mottaki as foreign minister, said that he hopes the bilateral ties can advance more and more.
He added that in water control and irrigation projects as well as transportation, companies of both countries have had good and positive negotiations.
Referring to the necessity of activation of trade and commercial affairs by signing an agreement for prevention of double taxation, the Kenyan FM said that the two sides can activate grounds for exchanging goods.
The two ministers also discussed the Middle East developments, environment, Non-Aligned Movement as well as the UN structure.
