AZERBAIJANI RESCUERS PARTICIPATE IN NATO FIELD EXERCISE
Baku, September 8 (AzerTAc). A rescue team of Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Emergency Situations participates in NATO`s field exercise “ZHETYSU 2009”, which is held in the city of Kapchagay in the Almaty province of Kazakhstan, September 5-10.
The event is conducted with support of the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) and the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan.
ZHETYSU” will allow NATO and Partner countries to practice disaster response mechanisms and capabilities and to enhance co-operation in emergency situations.
The relevant structures from 26 member countries of NATO, UN, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) were attracted to the event. All together, about 1500 participants take part in the exercise.
