Kuraray Revives New Plant Construction

Tokyo, Sept. 7 (Jiji Press)--Kuraray Co. <3405> said Monday its
dental materials unit has revived a plan to build a new 5.5-billion-yen
plant in Japan in anticipation of growing demand worldwide.
Construction of Kuraray Medical Inc.'s new plant will begin in
October 2010 in Tainai, Niigata Prefecture, central Japan.
The plant will start making such products as dental filling and
adhesive materials in November 2012.
Kuraray Medical announced a plan in October last year to build a
new plant in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, western Japan, for operations
starting in October 2011.
But the company suspended the plan in February this year due to the
global economic slump.
The revived plan has no change in the amount of investment.
