LORD MAYOR OF NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE BECOMES HONORARY PRESIDENT OF HEYDAR ALIYEV INTERNATIONAL CENTER

Lord Mayor Gary Burroughs of the Canadian town of Niagara-on-the-Lake has agreed to become the honorary president of the Heydar Aliyev International Center after the meeting with Azerbaijani Diaspora delegation and ambassador of Azerbaijan to Canada. The center was established by conductor of the Silkway chamber orchestra Ismayil Hajiyev and his son, incumbent head of the Center, Jovdet Hajiyev.
The center aims at combining eastern and western cultures to popularize cultural heritage of countries lying on the historic Silk way.
The Center is also planning to establish cooperation with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, successfully headed by First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva.
