World’s biggest octagonal carpet woven in Naein
The biggest octagonal carpet in the world was unveiled in Naein, Isfahan province.
Announcing this, head of Naein Carpet Bureau, Ali Akbar Shahriari, told IRNA Saturday that the carpet is the first of its type in the world and it has been woven with inspirations from genuine Iranian styles and nature of Naein.
It is made of high quality 100 percent acrylic fibers, he noted.
Measuring 125 square meters, the cream-colored carpet was woven at the cost of 200 million rials in Yazd’s Bastab Factory, Shahriari said.
Naein city is one of the main carpet-weaving centers in Iran. It is located 140 kilometers east of Isfahan.
