Bakı, 28 avqust (AzərTAc). Kazakhstan is interested in transporting hydrocarbon resources from the Caspian to the European and Asian countries, said Kazakh ambassador in Azerbaijan Serik Primbetov.
The diplomat stressed bilateral relations between the two nations are developing rapidly. He noted high-level meetings among Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Russia and Azerbaijan are scheduled in Aktau to discuss Caspian legal status, energy cooperation and other issues.
Primbetov noted Speaker of the Kazakh Senate is planning to visit Azerbaijan shortly. A meeting of the Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission is scheduled to be held in Baku.
Serik Primbetov noted Kazakhstan does not oppose diversification of energy supplies from the Caspian, adding the country is also keen on shipping its energy resources via not only  BTC but also Baku-Supsa pipeline.
On the prospects of the Caspian transportation system to deliver Kazakhstan energy resources to Europe, the ambassador said “You know, Kazmunaygas and SOCAR have signed a memorandum to the effect. A new seaport will be built near Aktau. Oil tankers will ship oil to Azerbaijan and from here to the Persian Gulf”
