-TURKEY, TRNC SIGN COOPERATION PROTOCOL ON AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH
ANKARA (A.A) - 25.08.2009 - Turkey and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) signed on Tuesday a protocol to make cooperation on agricultural research.
TRNC Agriculture & Natural Researches Minister Nazim Cavusoglu and Turkish Agriculture & Rural Affairs Minister Mehdi Eker signed the protocol.
Speaking after the signing ceremony, Eker said TRNC was a Mediterranean country and has the risk of drought and water shortage problem. He said utmost care should be shown to agricultural products that need water and animal husbandry.
TRNC minister Cavusoglu said food health meant human health, noting that, "our government announced package programs to improve agriculture. I believe that this protocol will further strengthen the development."
