Iran-Pakistan FMs call for deepening bilateral ties

Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, who is in Turkey to attend international meeting of 'Pakistan Friends Group', met with his Pakistani counterpart on Tuesday.

In the meeting, the two sides underlined deepening and expanding bilateral ties.
According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department, Mottaki called the 'Pakistan Friends Group' meeting 'positive' and expressed Iran’s desire to help Pakistan to establish stability and security.
He described Pakistan government's intention in fighting against terrorism 'important' and called it as a positive step to estabish security in the region.
Mottaki called trilateral cooperation between Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan as an appropriate model for regional cooperation and underlined expansion of cooperation in this field.
Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, for his part, said that constructive participation of the Iranian foreign minister in this meeting is a clear sign of deep and friendly relations between the two countries.
The Pakistani senior diplomat said the aim of the meeting is participation of private sector in investment in Pakistan and expressed hope that Pakistan would enjoy investment of private sectors from friendly neighbors.
He underlined his government's intention to expand relations with Iran in all fields.
The two foreign ministers congratulated Afghanistan government for holding a successful presidential election and expressed hope that the results of the election could help establishment of stability in the country.
