11.75 pc rise in number of Iranian tourists visiting Turkey
As many as 715,626 Iranian tourists traveled to Turkey in the first seven months of 2009, registering a 11.75 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year.
In the first seven months of this year, nearly 15 million foreign tourists, 4.79 percent of them Iranians, toured Turkey.
In the period under study, Iran followed Germany, Russia, the UK and Bulgaria in terms of number of tourists visiting Turkey.
According to Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, just in July, 188,614 Iranian tourists arrived in Turkey, showing a 26.16 percent increase compared to the corresponding month last year.
