Iran FM in Turkey


Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki heading a political delegation arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, Tuesday morning.

Mottaki is in Turkey to attend the Friends of Democratic Pakistan meeting and hold talks with his counterparts taking part in the meeting as well.

Officials from the US, the UK, Canada, Italy, China, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and the UAE as well as representatives of the UN are participating in the meeting.

The participants are to confer on development and security, issues related to energy and education as well as cooperation between public and private sectors.

They were also to discuss due measures to tackle terrorism and solve social problems.

The meeting is scheduled to review the implementation of the decisions made during the previous meeting held in Tokyo in April, 2009.

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu is hosting the meeting.
