NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTE ORGANIZES TRAINING SEMINAR IN SHAKI
Baku, 24 August (AzerTAc). The U.S. National Democratic Institute (NDI) organized Sunday, in the country`s Shaki region, a training seminar on increasing women`s public activity in society.
NDI`s resident director in Azerbaijan Arjen de Wolff said the purpose of “such trainings” which are held in about 80 countries of the world was to contribute to increasing women`s activity in the decision making process.
Other speakers at the event told of the main directions of the Azerbaijani Government`s policy on women and the role of women in society. They made some proposals on increasing women`s activity in public and political life.
The speakers underlined the importance of equal participation of women and men in decision-making process in a democratic society.
They also praised the Azerbaijani women`s public activity in society.
