PRESIDENT CONGRATULATES AZERI CANOEISTS ON WORLD SUCCESS

Baku, August 17 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev has asked minister of youth and sport Azad Rahimov to extend his congratulations to the country`s national canoe team which showed successful performance in the world championship in Canada. The Azeri canoeists won three medals - a gold, silver and bronze.
Gold came from Valentin Demyanenko in the 200-m race. Silver and bronze medals came from the Sergey Bezuglov/Maksim Prokopenko double in the 1000m- and 500m-races.
