AZERBAIJANI EXPEDITION STARTS KILIMANJARO CLIMB
Baku, August 17 (AzerTAc). The first Azerbaijan-Africa expedition, headed by President of the Azerbaijan Air and Extreme Sports Federation Huseyngulu Bagirov, has launched an attempt to climb Uhuru Peak on mountain Kilimanjaro in north east Tanzania.
The expedition takes place under the motto “Azerbaijan, towards new peaks with Ilham”.
Uhuru Peak is at 5,895 meters on Kibo volcano on Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, which is additionally one of the highest mountains on the seven continents called Seven Summits.
The expedition includes representatives of the ministry of ecology and natural resources.
This is the second long-distance expedition organized by the Azerbaijan Air and Extreme Sports Federation. Last year Huseyngulu Bagirov led an expedition to Antarctica.
