UNDP`s aid to displaced people in Saada discussed

SANA'A, Aug.15 (Saba) - Minister
of Local Administration Rashad al-Alimi met here on Saturday with United Nations
Development
Program (UNDP)'s Resident Representative in Yemen Pratibha Mehta.
The meeting discussed a number of topics related to UNDP and the continuous efforts
for presenting the food and humanitarian assist to the displaced people in the
volatile
province of Saada.
Al-Alimi praised the offered support, affirming the government's readiness to ease
all difficulties hindering the humanitarian aid in Saada.
Confronts have been revived recently between the army and the rebels in Yemen's
restive region of Saada.
The Houthi rebels have forced many families to leave their homes which they took
over and stationed to fight the troops.
Recent reports revealed rebel intentions and preparations for a new war against the
government forces as they warned the people to leave their homes before they are
destroyed.
On Thursday and after the military launched offensives against the rebels, the
Yemeni government announced truce terms to avoid further bloodshed in the area. But
it seems
the defiant rebels have not adopted the initiative with fresh attacks being reported.
