Kasabian stuck in Sydney with swine flu
English rockers Kasabian have been confined to their hotel rooms while on tour in
Sydney amid fears some band members have been struck down with swine flu.
Frontman Tom Meighan had to be rushed to hospital earlier this week after displaying
symptoms of the potentially fatal virus.
The band has been forced to cancel gigs in Australia but still hopes it can play in
Malaysia at the weekend.
"We're all sick as dogs," guitarist Serge Pizzorno told The Sun newspaper in Britain
on Thursday.
"It's a bit of a virus that we picked up in Japan. It's so tough.
"I am confined to my hotel room and I look out and see the Opera House and the
harbour and so want to be out there in it all.
"The doctor says it will take a couple of days and we need to stay in our rooms and
chill."
The band arrived in Sydney on Monday and has done a series of interviews to promote
its new album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum.
