NATO REMOVES INCORRECT MAP FROM WEBSITE

Berlin, August 14 (AzerTAc). As reported earlier, one could see administrative borders of Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan as being marked as in case of other states on NATO Overview, while break-away regions of Georgia and Moldova were not indicated on, too. (see: http://usazeris.org/integrity/nato_overview%20zoomed%20incorrct.jpg).
Even the boundaries of NATO-created Kosovo was not indicated on the map, despite the military operation the Alliance conducted in 1999 against Belgrade to withdraw the province from control of Serbian central government and the recognition of the self-proclaimed state by many countries including NATO member states.
Less than a day after AzerTAc (Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency) protested the error on NATO Overview the Alliance removed the incorrect map from its website.
Now, the new map named “NATO members and participating countries of PfP program” reflects the reality: (see: http://www.nato.int/icons/map/0906memb-part-e.pdf.)
We are grateful to NATO for constructive and operative response.
