OIC Chief urges Youths to uphold global peace and stability

Jeddah, August 12, SPA -- The Secretary General of the Organization
of Islamic Conference (OIC), Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has greeted
with good wishes youths in the Muslim countries and the rest of the
world on the occasion of the International Youth day.

"The declaration of the International Youth Day was the outcome of
the collective will of the international community to underscore the
importance and relevance of developing the world’s youth community as
responsible future leaders to uphold global peace, progress,
development and stability," he said in a message yesterday on this
occasion.

"The OIC has prioritized the importance in developing and empowering
youths of the Member States to serve the society. It has also taken
up programmes to develop Muslim youths to be strong morally and
intellectually. It aims to involve the youths to be engaged in a
constructive dialogue for better understanding and appreciation of
the value of diversity and to develop tolerance of each other," he
said in the message carried by OIC web-site.
