NO IMPACT OF GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISES ON AZERBAIJAN, CHAIRMAN OF GERMAN-SOUTH CAUCASIAN PARLIAMENTARY GROUP OF GERMAN BUNDESTAG

Baku, 11 August (AzerTAc). “We do not feel impact of the global economic crisis upon Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is rapidly developing, I always become eyewitness of it when I visit Baku. I could not hide my surprise of what I saw here during my current trip”, said Steffen Reiche, chairman of the German-South Caucasian parliamentary group of the German Bundestag while meeting here with Azerbaijani MP Rovshan Rzayev today.
Rzayev, member of Azerbaijan-Germany inter-parliamentary working group, said official Baku is always keen on developing relations with Germany.
“Germany is a friendly country to Azerbaijan. We praise documents adopted by Bundestag on supporting Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity and demanding that Azerbaijanis, who became refugees and IDPs due to Armenian aggression, returned to their homelands. We hope this policy will not change and our friendship ties will further strengthen”, Azerbaijani MP said.
Reiche said his country considers Azerbaijan as an “important” partner in the Southern Caucasus. “Our bilateral relations are rapidly developing”, he said.
Chairman of the German-South Caucasian parliamentary group said Germany is very much interested in further expanding ties with Azerbaijan in all fields.
He added: “This is my fifth trip to Azerbaijan. Members of the friendship group pay more visits to your country than Armenia or other countries of the region. And this is evidence to our attitude to your country. The current delegation also includes orientalist scientists who will carry out a research here on Germany.”
Reiche said the delegation will attend an event marking the 190th anniversary of inhabiting of German population in Azerbaijan`s Goygol region. According to him, they will also watch here a football match between Azerbaijan and Germany.
