Bahraini PM discusses economic cooperation with Thai PM
BANGKOK, Aug 10 (TNA) – Bahrain’s Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa on Monday met Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on his second day of his official three-day visit to Thailand.
Bahrain’s Prime Minister met with Mr. Abhisit at Government House and discussed economic cooperation, food security and investment in the services sector.
Mr. Abhisit said Thailand is determined to cooperate with Bahrain in setting up a goods distribution center in Bahrain and thanked for Bahrain’s contribution in helping Thailand regain image on the issue of the southern violence in the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and to prevent the unrest in southern Thailand from becoming an international problem.
Bahrain also supported rebuilding relations between Thailand and Saudi Arabia.
The Thai prime minister hosted a luncheon for the Bahraini Prime Minister on his visit to Thailand at the invitation of the Royal Thai Government from August 9-11.
His Highness Sheikh Khalifa has been prime minister of Bahrain since 1971.
He has played a crucial role in continuously fostering excellent relations between Thailand and Bahrain. His visit will further strengthen the close relations existing between the two kingdoms, especially in the economic sphere, according to the Thai foreign ministry. (TNA)
