BRYZA`S STATEMENT ‘MESSAGE TO AGGRESSOR ARMENIA’
Baku, 8 August (AzerTAc). US Co-Chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group Matthew Bryza`s statement demanding that Armenia return Azerbaijan`s seven occupied regions adjacent to Nagorno-Karabakh is a message to the aggressor state, said Aydin Mirzazadeh, deputy chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament`s committee on security and defense.
Bryza`s statement came while he was in Yerevan as part of a regular tour of the region.
Mirzazadeh called the statement a “serious enough”, saying the fact Mr. Bryza made it while visiting Armenia “is what adds extra importance to the issue”.
Mirzazadeh pointed out there is a “serious progress” in peace talks on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“Last processes show that the conflict will be solved on a stage-by-stage basis and it meets interests of Azerbaijan,” he said.
The Azerbaijani MP also praised a statement of Russian Premier Vladimir Putin regarding the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict which he made during his trip to Turkey.
“Such kind of statements hint that solution to this conflict is not far away,” said Mirzazadeh.
