ERDOGAN, PUTIN, BERLUSCONI MEET IN ANKARA
Ankara, August 7 (AzerTAc).Prime Ministers Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, Vladimir Putin of Russia and Silvio Berlusconi of Italy have met Thursday here to discuss energy-related issues, notably Russia`s support for Samsun-Ceyhan oil, “South Stream” and “Blue stream-2” gas pipelines, as well as the Interconnector Turkey-Greece-Italy.
Following the meeting, Turkey and Russia have signed 12 documents on cooperation in various spheres, including a protocol of the 9th meeting of Turkey-Russia intergovernmental commission and protocol on nuclear energy cooperation.
In addition, Premiers Erdogan and Putin singed two protocols on oil and gas cooperation between the two countries.
After the signing ceremony, the two Premiers briefed journalists during which Erdogan said the volume of trade turnover between Turkey and Russia had reached $40 billion.
According to him, the two countries had carried out 1152 projects.
Putin said the discussions mainly focused on the “South Stream” project.
He noted Italy-based “Eni” company would participate in implementation of the “Blue stream-2” project, as well.
