AZERBAIJANI AMBASSADOR TO EGYPT MEETS EGYPTIAN MINISTER OF STATE FOR FAMILY AND POPULATION
Baku, August 7 (AzerTAc). Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Egypt Faig Bagirov has met with Egyptian Minister of State for Family and Population Mushira Khattab.
The talks focused on prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt on family, women and children issues.
Bagirov said his country was interested in boosting relevant cooperation with Egypt.
The ambassador noted President Ilham Aliyev`s visit to Egypt in 2007 and Egyptian first lady Susan Mubarak`s trip to Baku last year contributed to enhancing bilateral relationship.
He pointed out cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt within international organizations was successfully developing.
The diplomat said a lot of schools and health care facilities had been built in Azerbaijan on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s President, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva.
He added the Foundation also funded construction of schools in Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and Pakistan.
Bagirov also noted Baku, the capital of Islamic Culture for 2009, has hosted several international events.
Ms. Mushira Khattab, in turn, praised the current level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt.
She said Azerbaijan had achieved great accomplishments in solving problems related to family, women and children.
According to her, she intends to familiarize herself with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and to exchange views and experience with Azerbaijan State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.
Then, Bagirov handed over to Mushira Khattab a book featuring the activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
