YOUTHFUL ALIYEV WINS WORLD WRESTLING GOLD FOR AZERBAIJAN
Ankara, August 5 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Hasan Aliyev has thrashed defending champion Rahman Bilici of Turkey to take gold in the men`s 60 kg class in the world youth wrestling championship.
Aliyev secured the title winning 2-1 and 6-1 to earn second win in a row over the Turk after defeating him last month in the European championship`s semifinal in Tbilisi.
In the 50 kg division, Khurshud Babashov won bronze for Azerbaijan thanks to a win over Kyrgyz Hasan Suleymanov in a close contest.
Three more Azeri wrestlers will be in action on Wednesday in the 55 kg, 66 kg and 84 kg weight categories.
