Supreme Leader endorses Ahmadinejad’s 2nd term presidency
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei endorsed presidency of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for his second term in a ceremony held Monday morning.
The ceremony was held at the Imam Khomeini Hosseinieh (Mosque) in downtown Tehran in the presence of senior authorities including Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and Judiciary chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi.
Secretary of the Guardians Council Ahmad Jannati was also present in the ceremony.
Ranking army officials and a group of Tehran-based foreign diplomats have also attended the ceremony.
President Ahmadinejad was re-elected in Iran’s 10th presidential election held on June 12.
He is to take oath in the Iranian Majlis (Parliament) on August 5.
