10 Iranian pilgrims released from Saudi prison

Saudi Arabia released 10 Iranian pilgrims from prison.

The Saudi police kept 41 Iranian pilgrims in Saudi prison for alleged possession of unauthorized drug.

The release was made thanks to the efforts made by Iranian officials from both the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization and Foreign Ministry.

The Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization has hoped that the rest of the arrested pilgrims would be freed soon.

So far, 150 Iranian pilgrims kept of alleged possession of unauthorized drug have been freed.

Those under arrest say that the drugs were for personal use.

In another development, Iran has criticized the Saudi police for mistreatment of Iranian pilgrims at the airport.
