101 countries to take part in int’l short film festival in Tehran
Some 2381 films from 101 countries have been submitted to the secretariat of the international section the 26th International Tehran Short Film Festival, which is slated for November.
According to a report by the Public Relations Department the Association of Youth Cinema, the figure includes 21 Muslim countries such as Algeria, Azerbaijan Republic, Iraq, Tajikistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Palestine, Pakistan, Niger, Nigeria, Morocco, Malaysia, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey and the UAE.
Of the 2381 entries, 1359 are narrative, 347 documentary, 342 experimental and 329 animation films.
France, Spain, Britain, Brazil, Germany, Italy, the USA, Canada, Belgium and Argentina are among the countries which have forwarded a large number of works to the event.
This is while Islamic countries are participating in the event more actively compared to the earlier rounds of the festival.
The 26th International Tehran Short Film Festival is the greatest international event focusing on short films to be held in Iran with an aim of promoting awareness and insight of the young generation, producing superior films in the field and evaluating the films made in the past one year.
