Sixth Queenslander with swine flu dies

A man in his 30s has become Queensland's sixth person with swine flu to die.
The man died in a Brisbane northside hospital late on Saturday.
Queensland Health said he was in a vulnerable group, and will not be releasing any
further details at this stage.
Chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young extended her sympathies to the man's family.
"Anyone who falls into a vulnerable group is at a higher risk of suffering
complications from swine flu," Dr Young said.
Queensland Health confirmed that as of midday on Sunday, there were 78 patients in
hospital in Queensland with human swine flu.
Twenty-one of those were in intensive care.
Queensland Health said those who are most vulnerable include indigenous people of
all ages as well as pregnant women and those with respiratory disease.
"People in this vulnerable category are advised to seek medical attention as soon as
they experience flu-like symptoms as treatment is effective if commenced within 48
hours of the onset of symptoms," Dr Young said.
Dr Young said all Queenslanders should continue to take the usual flu season
precautions such as washing hands on a regular basis and staying home if unwell.
