Iranian diplomat meets with UN official, Afghan minister

Iran’s Ambassador to Kabul Fada Hossein Maleki met with UN envoy in Afghanistan Kai Eide as well as Afghanistan's Minister of Culture and Information Abdul Karim Khorram separately here on Saturday.

In a meeting with the UN envoy, the two sides emphasized the stability and security in Afghanistan and stressed that the world community should speed up implementation of infra-structure projects here.
Eide called Trieste Meeting in Italy very important on regional cooperation issue in the field of rebuilding and constructing railroad in Afghanistan.
Currently a railroad between Khauf, Iran, and Harat, Afghanistan, in under construction and its continuation toward Mazar Sharif and Badakhahan and its connection to the Central Asia and China railroad is under study by Iran.
Maleki also discussed issues of mutual interest with Afghanistan Minister of Culture and Information Abdulkarim Khorram .
In the meeting, the two sides discussed implementation of past agreements, joint cooperation in the field of culture and media.
