Man arrested `who drove at police`
Police fired shots at a man who allegedly drove at them when he was asked to stop in
Sydney's west.
Police were conducting a property crime operation in the Condell Park area when they
tried to pull over a vehicle in Saltash Street just after 3.30pm (AEST) on Thursday.
"It is alleged the vehicle drove at them," police said in a statement.
"A number of shots were fired by officers."
No one was injured during the incident.
The driver handed himself in at Bankstown police station a short time later and has
since been arrested, police said.
A crime scene has been established and inquiries into the incident are being carried
out by police from the South West Metropolitan Region.
Police say the investigation is in its early stages and no further information is
available.
