IRNA proposes establishing Coalition of SCO News Agencies
IRNA Chief Mohammad-Jafar Behdad here on Monday proposed formation of the Coalition of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization News Agencies.
Behdad’s idea was instantly welcomed by his host and counterpart, the chief of the Itar-Tass News Agency, Vitaly Ignatengo.
Ignatengo said that however, to implement the “interesting” proposal, agreement should reached with Xinhua news agency already.
IRNA Chief said the idea will be raised in the upcoming Beijing meeting.
He added that talks to that effect have been held with Chinese Charge D’Affaires in Tehran.
He added that furthermore, IRNA will submit its proposal in the form of an official letter to the Chinese party.
Furthermore, Behdad urged expansion of relations between Iranian and Russian official news agencies in pace with the Tehran-Moscow relations and cooperation in other spheres.
