Farming Preparations Brisk in DPRK

 Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- The agricultural workers in South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK are making full preparations for farming with loyalty and patriotic enthusiasm.
The province has produced tens of thousands of more tons of self-sufficing manure as compared with the same period of last year, repaired and remodeled nutritive rice-transplanting machines at the final stage and made remarkable progress in spreading fertile soil on fields and readjusting irrigation systems.
Jangyon and Jaeryong counties have turned the securing of manure resources into a mass movement to bring about good results. Haeju City and Chongdan and Sinwon counties are concentrating efforts and means on transporting self-sufficing manure in time.
Agricultural workers in Paechon, Thaethan and Unchon counties have carried out their daily plans, concentrating efforts on land improvement. Officials and farmers in Sinchon and Yonan counties are scrupulously spreading fertile soil on fields.
Working people in Kangryong and Anak counties are ensuring the nutrition care of winter wheat and barley and many farms in the province are doing the sterilization and low-temperature treatment of spring wheat and barley seeds as required by technical regulations.
Pongchon and Samchon counties are directing efforts to the production of pyroligneous acid conducive to promoting the growth of crops and exterminating harmful insects.
All city and counties are speeding up the installation of equipment at hundreds of newly-built pumping stations while pushing ahead with the overhauling of nutritive rice-transplanting machines and tractors. -0-
