Iran’s Khuzestan exports over 17 million tons of goods in 10 months

Ahvaz, IRNA – Some 17,029,000 tons of goods, valued at 4.925 billion dollars, were exported from the Khuzestan’s customs during the first ten months of the current year (March 21, 2025–January 20, 2026), a provincial official says.
Speaking to IRNA on Sunday, Behrouz Qarehbeigi said that that exports to Iraq, as one of the most important destinations for Khuzestan during this period, amounted to 5.332 million tons, worth 1,219,907,000 dollars.
Commenting on to the volume of goods imported in the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year, he said 16.034 thousand metric tons of goods, valued at 17.242 billion dollars, were imported via the province’s borders, marking a 19% increase in weight and a 2% increase in value.
Qarehbeigi reported that during the same period, the revenue of the province’s customs was 240,300 billion Rials, which shows a 51% growth compared to the same period last year.
He went on to say that during the last ten months, 3,364,000 people entered through the borders of Shalamcheh, Chazabeh, Ahvaz Airport, and Khorramshahr sea border, while 3,532,000 people left the province.
Light hydrocarbons, rebar, iron concentrate, natural gas, pentane plus, urea fertilizer, steel ingots, light polyethylene, and propane were among the main exported items.
South Africa, Afghanistan, India, Ghana, Kuwait, Oman, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, and China are the export destinations for Khuzestan’s goods.
