Edil Baisalov meets with Volker Frobarth in Bishkek

Bishkek, Feb. 20, 2026. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov met with Ambassador Volker Frobarth, OSCE head in Bishkek.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers, during a courtesy call, Edil Baisalov congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his work. He noted that the Kyrgyz Republic views the OSCE as an important platform for equal and mutually respectful dialogue on security and cooperation, reaffirming the country's commitment to democratic principles, the rule of law, and the protection of human rights and freedoms. The parties discussed cooperation priorities, including the fight against corruption and organized crime, the digitalization of public administration, and the reform of the judicial and law enforcement systems.

They also discussed the further development of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, including its institutionalization and the resolution of tax issues.

Following the meeting, mutual commitment to further strengthen constructive cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the OSCE was confirmed.
