HM King receives book "Isa Al Kabeer: Founder of the Modern State"

Manama, Feb. 14 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Al Sakhir Palace the journalist and author Sawsan Al Shaer, who presented the first copy of her book "Isa Al Kabeer: Founder of the Modern State". The book’s release coincides with the royal order naming this year "Year of Isa Al Kabeer," in honour of the founder of the modern Bahraini state, and the 25th anniversary of the National Action Charter.
The meeting was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister; His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King; His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs; His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports; and Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court.
Sawsan Al Shaer provided a brief overview of the book, highlighting the life of Isa Al Kabeer, his role in building the modern state, and the achievements during his reign.
His Majesty the King expressed appreciation to the author for her efforts in producing this distinguished work, and highlighted the contributions of all those involved in its preparation and publication.
His Majesty the King recalled the remarkable life of Isa Al Kabeer, noting his values and the lasting legacy of the legal and civil institutions he established, which continue to benefit Bahrain today. His Majesty expressed pride in the achievements of Isa Al Kabeer, whose leadership brought political stability, security, and economic prosperity, creating a modern national state with a unique identity that was ahead of its time.
His Majesty the King emphasised the importance of reflecting on this historical period and understanding the vision of such a leader. His Majesty noted that, despite existing studies, Isa Al Kabeer’s full contributions have not yet been fully documented, and emphasised that future generations should learn of the efforts made to secure Bahrain’s independence and sovereignty.
His Majesty the King also expressed pride in the role of the founding figures of the state throughout history, who established the foundations of the modern Bahraini state and ensured its development and stability.
