Foreign Minister meets former UK Prime Minister in Munich

Munich, Feb. 14 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met Baroness Theresa May, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Member of the House of Lords, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
The meeting discussed longstanding bilateral ties and cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Global Commission on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking, chaired by Baroness Theresa May. Dr. Al Zayani underscored Bahrain’s efforts in combating human trafficking and promoting human rights, highlighting its Tier 1 ranking in the US Department of State’s Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report for the eighth consecutive year.
The two sides also addressed Bahrain’s priorities during its non permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council for 2026–2027, in addition to issues of shared interest.
The meeting was attended by Ahmed Ibrahim Al Qurainees, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Federal Republic of Germany; Ambassador Saeed Abdul Khaliq, Director of the Coordination and Follow up Sector; and the accompanying delegation.
