Indonesia confirms BoP summit attendance, vows support for Palestine

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has confirmed his attendance at the inaugural Board of Peace (BoP) summit in the United States next week, where he intends to advocate for Palestinian independence and Gaza’s recovery.

According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela, the President received an official invitation to the meeting scheduled for February 19, 2026.

"President Prabowo Subianto plans to attend the summit," Mulachela informed ANTARA in a written statement on Wednesday.

The spokesperson noted that Prabowo’s presence reflects Indonesia’s commitment to shaping the organization’s mission from its inception.

During the summit, the President will advocate for the Palestinian cause, specifically focusing on Gaza's recovery in line with the Indonesian people's mandate.

Through the BoP, Indonesia continues to support a just and lasting peace via the international two-state solution framework.

Earlier that day, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto confirmed the state visit, noting that Prabowo is also expected to sign a long-negotiated reciprocal tariff agreement with Washington.

The White House is hosting the summit to advance the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire, with Washington having begun reaching out to dozens of countries to invite leaders and discuss logistics, according to an Anadolu report.

Indonesia officially joined the BoP after President Prabowo signed the charter during the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 22.
