Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- The mining industrial sector of the DPRK makes innovations in the production of minerals and nonferrous metals while directing efforts to strengthening its material and technical foundations.
The Hyesan Youth Mine has made technical innovations with the main emphasis on ensuring the normal operation of equipment and raising the proportion of mechanization.
The Yongyu Mine upgraded the technical performance of newly-installed winch motor and improved the capacities of grinders, crushers and belt conveyors to raise productivity.
Phungnyon and Jungsan mines have kept equipment in full-capacity operation while effecting a technical innovation to improve the quality index of phosphorus concentrate.
The Munphyong Smeltery is putting the operation of iron oxide and calcination-sulfuric acid production lines and electrolysis process on a normal footing and pushing ahead with the work for recycling waste materials to provide a guarantee for increased production.
The Manpho Smeltery has solved technical problems in ensuring the rapid transport of concentrates, producing equipment and materials by itself, lowering cost and raising extraction rate of products.
