Successes Made in Metal Industry of DPRK
Pyongyang, January 29 (KCNA) -- The metallurgical industry of the DPRK is pushing ahead with the work to ensure this year's struggle for increased production materially and technically.
The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex set a goal of prolonging the period of repairing furnaces by extending the service life of new refractory material and has intensified a research to optimize its composition and further enhance the compression strength.
It has also directed efforts to solving such technical problems as reducing the standard of fuel consumption and the sulfur content in molten iron, rationally fixing the mixing ratio and charging quantity of raw and other materials according to the field conditions and raising the combustion efficiency while increasing production.
The Chollima Steel Complex has closely combined science and technology with production while taking measures to operate electric furnaces, rolling mills and other major equipment on a normal track.
The Jaeryong Mine has made progress in consolidating the production foundation by establishing a system of monitoring the operation of equipment in real time and inventing and introducing the technology for speeding up the muck transshipping. -0-
