MP Lulwa Al Rumaihi participates in PAM Women Parliamentarians Forum in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, Jan. 28 (BNA): MP Lulwa Ali Al Rumaihi the second edition of the Women Parliamentarians Forum of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), organised by the Federal National Council (FNC) in the United Arab Emirates.
The forum was held under the theme "Empowering Women for Cohesive and Inclusive Societies: From the Gulf to the Mediterranean."
Al Rumaihi affirmed that the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, places special importance on investing in women. She emphasised that empowering women in decision-making positions directly supports comprehensive development, societal stability and institutional cohesion.
She said that empowering women in education, health and environmental sustainability has become a fundamental pillar for building cohesive, resilient and just societies in the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions, calling for deeper partnerships with women and broader participation in shaping developmental, social and environmental policies.
Al Rumaihi highlighted the institutional role of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King, as the national framework coordinating policies, strengthening partnerships and linking women’s empowerment programmes to measurable outcomes.
She outlined Bahraini women’s contributions to education policy and innovation, leadership roles in the health sector, and initiatives in environmental sustainability, including renewable energy, recycling and urban agriculture.
