National Center for Wildlife Celebrates Gulf Wildlife Day

Riyadh, December 30, 2025, SPA -- The National Center for Wildlife is celebrating Gulf Wildlife Day, highlighting its role in preserving biodiversity and promoting sustainable ecosystems across the Kingdom.
Observed annually on December 30, Gulf Wildlife Day emphasizes the importance of regional coordination among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in wildlife conservation. It aims to raise awareness of the importance of preserving species and to showcase various initiatives supporting biodiversity.
In support of the event, the center is presenting its specialized programs for breeding and reintroducing endangered wildlife. These efforts focus on restoring ecological balance in protected areas, managing nature reserves through habitat monitoring, and promoting responsible ecotourism. Additionally, the center is reinforcing its community role through awareness campaigns and educational partnerships that encourage responsible environmental behavior.
The Kingdom is rich in biodiversity, with 65 ecosystems home to over 12,000 wildlife species, including birds, mammals, and plants. This diversity highlights the importance of ongoing efforts to preserve natural resources and maintain biodiversity for future generations.
