Revolutionary and Popular Constitution of DPRK

 Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- On the occasion of the significant Constitution Day, the people in the DPRK recollect with deep emotion the immortal exploits President Kim Il Sung performed by providing the socialist political charter of the Juche type that entirely serves the people.
The President enacted and enforced the first people's democratic constitution in the liberated country by applying the Juche-oriented legislative tradition he created during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, and energetically led the work for drafting a new constitution in the 1970s.
He taught officials the orientation and ways for enacting a new constitution and refined every article and phrase of the draft constitution.
Thanks to his meticulous care, the Constitution of the DPRK was adopted at the First Session of the Fifth Supreme People's Assembly on December 27, 1972.
The enactment of the revolutionary and popular Constitution of the DPRK provided a legal guarantee for firmly defending our people-centred state and social system and gave our people with a powerful legal weapon for further accelerating the revolution and construction.
The Korean people are displaying the high spirit of law observance with the awareness that to abide by the DPRK laws is precisely the way for defending their interests and happiness and socialism. -0-
