Kyrgyzstan plans large-scale upgrade of medical infrastructure

Bishkek, Dec. 25, 2025 /Kabar/. At meeting of the 4th People's Kurultai, President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that healthy, active, and able-bodied citizenry is essential for achieving the goals of the National Development Program until 2030.

"Quality of life begins with health," the head of state noted.

In the coming years, the country expects a large-scale upgrade of its medical infrastructure. Plans include the construction of new clinics, first aid stations, and hospitals, equipping healthcare facilities with modern equipment, expanding programs to digitalize the work of doctors and nurses, and creating a fully functioning electronic healthcare system.

Modern medical campus with over 5,000 beds will be built in Bishkek, the largest project in the country's history. At least 25 new hospitals and clinics are planned throughout the country. Modern perinatal centers will open in the cities of Osh, Talas, and Manas. More than 1,000 rural outpatient clinics and 27 primary healthcare centers will be equipped with new equipment.

President emphasized that infrastructure is only one aspect of the reforms. Particular attention will be paid to fostering a culture of health: disease prevention, early detection, vaccinations, infection control, and maternal and child health.

"We are creating a system capable of protecting every citizen, from infants to the elderly, and ensuring a high quality of life for the entire population," added Sadyr Zhaparov.
