FM Emphasizes the Importance of Strengthening and Developing Relations Between Iraq and Italy

Baghdad / NINA/- Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein stressed the importance of strengthening and developing bilateral relations between Iraq and Italy across various fields.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the minister reviewed the latest political developments in Iraq during his meeting with the staff of the Iraqi embassies in Rome and the Vatican, held on the sidelines of his visit to Italy. He highlighted the electoral process, noting the broad voter turnout and the smooth and orderly conduct of the elections, which reflects public awareness and citizens’ commitment to the democratic path.

The minister also emphasized the importance of the upcoming steps related to the formation of the government and the need to proceed in accordance with constitutional frameworks, in a manner that meets the aspirations of the Iraqi people and enhances political and institutional stability in the country.

Hussein further underscored the significance of Iraq–Italy bilateral relations, calling for their enhancement and development in the political, economic, and cultural fields to serve the mutual interests of the two friendly countries. /End
