Under patronage of HM King, Commemoration Day ceremony held

Manama, Dec. 17 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the Commemoration Day ceremony was held at Al Sakhir Palace.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, attended the ceremony.
Upon His Majesty’s arrival, accompanied by mounted police, His Majesty was received by Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander in Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF); General His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the National Guard; and General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior. Senior officials, military officers, and families of fallen servicemen attended the ceremony.
Following the national anthem and the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, a single artillery salute was fired, followed by a solemn observance of silence, after which the artillery fired a single salute to mark its conclusion. The military band performed the Fallen Servicemen’s Salute, and military honours were rendered. Then, Royal Bahraini Air Force’s fighter jets performed a flyover in tribute of the fallen servicemen.
Shaikh Adnan bin Abdulla Al Qattan, President of the Sharia Department at the Cassation Court and Imam of Al Fateh Mosque, delivered a commemorative sermon and prayer.
He noted that Commemoration Day is a national occasion to honour those who sacrificed their lives in defence of faith, the homeland, and human dignity. He offered prayers for mercy and forgiveness for Bahrain’s fallen servicemen and for all those who lost their lives in similar service elsewhere, expressing hope that their sacrifices would be accepted and honoured.
He also prayed for the Kingdom of Bahrain, calling for continued security, unity, stability, and prosperity for its people.
Prayers were offered for His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, seeking guidance, wisdom, success in leadership, continued dedication to justice and development, and good health and wellbeing for His Majesty and the Royal Family.
Prayers were further offered for the armed forces and security personnel, asking that they be protected and supported in the performance of their national duties wherever they serve.
The sermon concluded, after which attendees recited Al-Fatiha in tribute to the fallen servicemen of the Kingdom.
Subsequently, the National Guard Commander advanced to the front of the formation and rendered a salute to His Majesty the King.
The Chief of Royal Protocol then sought His Majesty’s permission for His Majesty to proceed with the watering of the palm tree, symbolising eternal life.
The Commemoration Day ceremony concluded with the playing of the Royal Anthem.

HM the King emphasised the significance of Commemoration Day as a national occasion to honour those who sacrificed their lives in defence of Bahrain’s security, stability, and sovereignty. His Majesty paid tribute to the courage, loyalty, and patriotism of the fallen servicemen, describing their sacrifice as a lasting source of pride and inspiration for generations to come.
His Majesty highlighted the dedication of Bahrain’s armed forces and security institutions in safeguarding the nation and protecting its people, commending their unity, resolve, and noble mission. HM King Hamad also thanked the families of the fallen servicemen for their patriotism, describing them as exemplary role models of resilience and devotion to the nation.
His Majesty concluded by praising the solidarity of Bahrain’s citizens, who continue to stand united in honouring the fallen servicemen and supporting their families, underscoring the values of unity and national pride that define Bahrain’s collective spirit.
HM the King offered prayers for the fallen servicemen, recognising their sacrifices and those of their counterparts in neighbouring countries, and wished Bahrain continued security, prosperity, and progress.
