Parliamentary Division concludes participation in 40th Extraordinary Session of AIPU Executive Committee in Cairo

Cairo, Dec. 17 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain's Parliamentary Division delegation participated in the 40th Extraordinary Session of the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The delegation included Ahmed Abdulwahid Qarata, Second Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives and member of the Executive Committee of the AIPU; MP Zainab Abdulameer Khalil, Deputy Head of the delegation; MP Hisham Abdulaziz Al Awadhi; MP Khalid Saleh Buanaq; and MP Jameel Mulla Hassan.
Qarata emphasised that Bahrain-Saudi relations continue to advance, building on their longstanding ties and comprehensive coordination, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and the attention of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the efforts and achievements of the Bahrain-Saudi Coordination Council.
He said that the Parliamentary Division, chaired by Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, fully supports Saudi Arabia in its upcoming term as chair of the AIPU. He also commended Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia, for his role in supporting Arab parliamentary cooperation.
Qarata commended the efforts of Ibrahim Bougali, President of the AIPU, in advancing Arab parliamentary partnership and coordinating Arab parliamentary positions in regional and international forums.
The delegation also participated in the Gulf Coordination Meeting to prepare for the AIPU session, chaired by Qarata, which reiterated Gulf parliamentary support for the outcomes of the 46th session of the GCC Supreme Council in Bahrain and lauded His Majesty the King’s efforts in advancing Gulf cooperation.
Qarata also chaired the temporary Finance Committee meeting, assigned by the Union’s presidency.
