Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Ibrahim Taha, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday.

Gharibabadi, who traveled to Riyadh to attend the 11th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), met and held talks with Taha.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on developments in the Islamic world, the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime, and ways to enhance cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Gharibabadi referred to the crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza and its aggressions toward other countries in the region, emphasizing, “The occupying Zionist regime, backed by the United States and acting on miscalculations, launched a military aggression against Iran but was met with a firm response.”

He expressed gratitude for the efforts of the OIC Secretary-General and other Islamic countries in condemning the Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran and in defending the Palestinian cause, particularly during the genocide in Gaza.

For his part, Taha emphasized the important role of the Islamic Republic of Iran within the OIC, appreciating Iran’s special support for the organization, and said that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is committed to supporting and defending the Islamic Republic of Iran.
