During the meetings, the Minister underscored Bahrain’s commitment to supporting joint Arab cooperation in housing, construction, and urban planning, noting its importance in developing effective policies to meet citizens’ housing needs and achieve balanced and sustainable urban development across Arab countries.

She highlighted Bahrain’s advanced experience in social housing and urban development, achieved through the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, aimed at improving quality of life and expanding housing options for citizens.

Al Rumaihi also underscored the Ministry’s continued development of housing policies through innovative initiatives and expanded partnerships with the private sector, highlighting the success of programmes such as housing finance schemes and the Government Land Rights Development Programme in providing faster and more diverse housing solutions for thousands of families.

The Council reviewed agenda items, including follow-up on Executive Bureau decisions and updates on the Arab Housing Electronic Platform, hosted by Bahrain, which aims to unify housing data across the Arab world and support decision-makers. Discussions also covered Arab cooperation with regional and international partners, implementation of the Arab Strategy for Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, the New Urban Agenda, and Sustainable Development Goal 11.

The Council also issued decisions and recommendations forming the Arab housing sector work programme for 2026–2027.

On the sidelines, the Minister participated in the opening of the Arab Forum for Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, which discussed modern trends in urban policy development and reviewed regional and international experiences in designing more sustainable and resilient cities.
